The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York. The Information Policy Department of the president reported.
The UN Secretary-General noted that he visited Kyrgyzstan at different times, witnessed how the state was going through difficult moments, and democracy was flourishing there currently.
«Kyrgyzstan is a beautiful country that plays a huge role in the region, wonderful people live in it. This is a country of prosperous democracy that warms the soul,» said Antonio Guterres.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that he cherished relations with the UN. «In 2017, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the country’s membership in the UN. I am confident that this dynamic will only be enhanced. Our international partners and you personally helped Kyrgyzstan in a difficult for us time in 2010 and provided invaluable assistance in improving the electoral system in 2017, during the presidential elections. All the projects supported by the UN in Kyrgyzstan are successfully developing that again proves your special attitude to our country,» the head of Kyrgyzstan stressed.
