Representatives of the non-governmental sector met today with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbai Jeenbekov. The head of the Legal Clinic Adilet, Cholpon Dzhakupova, told 24.kg news agency what issues were discussed.
According to her, the meeting participants raised problems they faced. «It was a comprehensive discussion. Sooronbai Jeenbekov tried to react to the voiced questions. His work capacity surprises. He is ready to cooperate. The meeting lasted four hours. He promised that meetings would be held regularly. The president suggested holding a thematic discussion,» Cholpon Dzhakupova said.
She added that a half of 40 speakers raised the judicial reform issue. Many are alarmed by the growing discontent of the population by the courts.
«The President drew attention to this. I have learned through a series of painful incidents, and I am familiar with the previous heads of state. I have positive impression of the meeting with Sooronbai Jeenbekov. He not only seeks support, but also wants to cooperate and work. Moreover, he admitted that the country lacked an expert community,» Cholpon Dzhakupova said.
