In 2018, about 71 km of the total length of Balykchi-Korumdu road will be repaired. This was stated during the trip of the Prime Minister Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziev to Issyk-Kul region.
The Minister of Transport and Roads Zhamshitbek Kalilov informed that the asphalt-concrete covering of the road had been laid on the sections from the 33rd to 43rd and from 85th to 104th kilometers.
Work is underway to remove the old asphalt concrete pavement and lay the main layer on the section between 23-33 km of the road. The work is planned to be completed by August 2018.
The head of government noted the need to conduct work in accordance with the approved schedule without causing inconvenience to holidaymakers during the summer tourist season.
The Prime Minister stressed that additional funds from the state budget were allocated for the construction work and there should be strict control over their intended use.
Mukammedkaly Abylgaziev pointed out that Long Hai contractor company should resolve issues with its subcontractors as soon as possible.
The prime minister instructed to complete works on improvement of the roadside infrastructure and clean up along the completed sections of the road.
