Investor from Nepal calls to make Kyrgyzstan a tourist hub

An investor from Nepal, Binod Chaudhary, called today at a press conference to develop tourism in Kyrgyzstan.

According to him, he was here in 2017 at the summit on preservation of the snow leopard, and he had warm memories. «I immediately saw that the Kyrgyz Republic has the opportunity to become a tourist hub. I proposed to develop the hotel business,» said Binod Chaudhary. «About 40 years ago, a project related to tigers was developed in Nepal. Now our country attracts tourists from all over the world who want to watch them. Why Kyrgyzstan can not become such a country for snow leopards lovers?»

The investor noted that Kyrgyzstan has a good geographical position, but it has little connection with the rest of the world. One must set a task to improve this situation. The Nepalese capital Kathmandu is a big hub, and there is no reason for Bishkek not to become the hub like it. «Bishkek is half an hour away from Kathmandu by plane, and it took me a whole day to get here,» Binod Chaudhary said.

He added that the Kyrgyz Republic has a high industrial potential and it is possible to produce high-quality branded products here. «Sometimes only one brand is needed for a country to rise to a new level of development,» said Binod Chaudhary. «Today I will meet with the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic. Our company is open for cooperation. We study all the options. Perhaps, we will build a factory here. I will also try to attract other investors in the Kyrgyz Republic.»

The only billionaire in Nepal, Binod Chowdhury, was included in the Forbes list in 2013. It took him 40 years to create an empire of 80 companies, operating in 11 sectors, in one of the world’s poorest countries.
