TURKSOY declares 2018 – year of Chingiz Aitmatov

Following the results of the 35^th meeting of the International Organization of Turkic Culture in the city of Turkestan (Kazakhstan), the 2018^th was declared the Year of Chingiz Aitmatov. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Recall, 2018 will mark the 90th anniversary since the birth of the writer.

The international organization of Turkic culture unites Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. TURKSOY puts the main goal - developing «cooperation between the Turkic peoples for the preservation, development and transfer to the future generations of common material and cultural monuments of the Turkic peoples.»
