Manufacturers, cargo carriers asked to refrain from crossing border

Domestic manufacturers and cargo carriers were asked to temporarily refrain from crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. Several business associations immediately addressed an appeal.

It is noted that this is done in order to avoid increasing queues of trucks at checkpoints along the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border. It is recommended not to cross the border until full resolution of all difficulties.

«A working group has been set up under the leadership of the first deputy prime ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. It must, within five days, develop concrete measures to address this issue, including solution of the problems with crossing of the state border by trucks. That is, it is assumed that in five days, based on the results of the group’s work, all the issues that arise will be removed, including those related to the cargo carriers,» the association concluded.

Recall, at the meeting on October 18, the heads of government of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan agreed on ensuring the priority order of crossing the border for individuals with personal luggage, regular passenger vehicles, cars and empty trucks.
