The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan sent an official appeal to the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization on the situation at the border with Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Information Support Department of the KyrgyzRepublic.
According to it, the basis for the appeal was the violation by Kazakhstan of the key norms of the general agreement on tariffs and trade and the agreement on the establishment of the World Trade Organization.
The department noted that the average daily number of passed persons and vehicles from Kyrgyzstan at major and busiest checkpoints Ak-Zhol and Ak-Tilek after the introduction of additional control measures by the Kazakh side decrease 2.4 times.
«The KyrgyzRepublic, being a full member of the World Trade Organization, as well as the Republic of Kazakhstan, will fully defend its rights within the WTO,» the government said.
