President of Kyrgyzstan comments on possible participation of military in Syria

Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev commented on the possible participation of Kyrgyz military in Syria.

According to him, during the talks with Vladimir Putin, this issue wasn’t discussed at all and added that there are «guys in Bishkek who need to fabricate something and make a scandal.»

«This is not an easy thing. If this issue is really discussed, then a unanimous decision of all the CSTO countries is needed, the UN resolution. And you know how they take all the initiatives of Russia, they try to block them. In addition, all this is decided by the country’s parliament. If someday, probably, no longer under my presidency, such a question will arise, then Kyrgyzstan should send non-regular units and troops. If there are willing military personnel who want to gain experience, I think it’s possible," Almazbek Atambayev said.

«In any case, we haven’t discussed this issue now. I was very surprised when one began to exaggerate it," he added.
