The court rejected another petition of defense of Aida Salyanova, deputy of Ata Meken parliamentary faction. The decision was announced by the judge of Leninsky District Court of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kasymbekov.
The lawyer Chinara Dzhakupbekova and the accused Aida Salyanova asked to dismiss the criminal case, as it was initiated unlawfully and unreasonably. However, the court did not find the defense’s arguments sufficient and refused to uphold the motion. The hearing will continue on June 19.
Aida Salyanova is charged with abuse of official position when being the Minister of Justice when she, according to the State National Security Committee, illegally extended the lawyer’s license to Aleksey Eliseev. Salyanova herself calls the criminal prosecution a political order.
