Active participant of terrorist activities in Syria detained in Kyrgyzstan

A militant of an international terrorist organization, citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, was detained in the country in the course of ongoing measures to prevent the infiltration of members of terrorist groups sent from Syria to commit terrorist attacks in Kyrgyzstan. The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

It was found out that the detainee was a member of the bandit formations of an international terrorist organization since 2014, underwent sabotage and terrorist training and took an active part in the fighting in Syria.

Investigative bodies of SCNS initiated a criminal case on the grounds of crimes under the Article «Mercenary activities» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The detainee was placed in SCNS jail. The investigation is under way.
