Kyrgyzstan is unable to pay damages to Maksim Bakiyev, lawyers, representing his interests, informed 24.kg news agency.
Note, the High Court of England made a decision concerning paying damages to the son of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who was overthrown in April 2010, for making unreasonable accusations of embezzlement of $ 26 million.
However, the government of Kyrgyzstan refuses to pay. Lawyers are preparing another lawsuit to recover the amount through the court.
Recall, in September, the media, referring to the law firm Hikman and Rose, reported that Kyrgyzstan withdrew a claim against Maxim Bakiyev for 20 million pounds sterling. The company’s explanation said that Bakiyev Jr. was sued for fraud, according to which he was accused of stealing money from two state funds.
The government of the KyrgyzRepublic explained that any conclusions describing the withrdawal of the claim of state bodies to Maksim Bakiyev as his victory in this legal proceeding don’t correspond to reality.
