CIS, EEU Prime Ministers to meet in Kazan

The Prime Ministers of the CIS countries and the Eurasian Economic Union will meet on May 26 in Kazan (Russia). The Russian and Belarusian media reported with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

It is noted that the agenda of the meeting includes issues of economic and customs cooperation, industry and agro-industrial complex. The heads of government of the union countries will hear an annual report of the EEC on monitoring of the assessment of the regulatory impact of the draft decisions of the commission in 2016.

The issue of the organization of joint research and development work in the agricultural sector of EEU member countries and the draft agreement on the procedure for voluntary harmonization of specific subsidies for industrial goods by the countries of the union with EEC and the conduction of proceedings related to the provision of the specific subsidies by EEU countries will be discussed.

The Prime Ministers will discuss the development of the single window mechanism in the system of regulation of foreign economic activity in the countries of the union.

The meeting will be chaired by Kyrgyzstan. In addition to the heads of the Cabinet, the chairman of the Board of the EEC Tigran Sargsyan will take part in the meeting.

The meeting of CIS heads of government will be chaired by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Within the framework of the meeting, it is planned to discuss issues of cooperation in the Commonwealth, including international treaties in the areas of the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, geodesy, cartography, cadastre and remote sensing of the Earth, counteracting the production and distribution of counterfeit products, and protection of the intellectual property.
