More than 2,500 Kyrgyz citizens have refused vaccinations for religious reasons. This was announced today at a meeting of the Parliament.
The issue was raised by MP Dastan Bekeshev. According to him, it is necessary to work with those who refuse to vaccinate children, show that it does not cause harm.
Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Gorin noted that the anti-vaccination movement is developing in Kyrgyzstan. People refuse it not only for religious reasons.
Mothers of newborns are also against vaccination. However, they are not discharged from the hospital until the child gets the necessary vaccinations.
In total, there are more than 2,500 people who had refused vaccinations for religious reasons. Explanatory work is carried out with expectant mothers and the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
