UN Secretary-General to visit Kyrgyzstan

The UN Secretary-General will visit Kyrgyzstan. The visit is scheduled for June 2017. This was announced today at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev with the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Petko Draganov in the city of Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in various spheres and activities of the center in the region.

Petko Draganov informed the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic about the planned visit of UN Secretary-General António Guterres to the Kyrgyz Republic in June 2017. The question of a high-level meeting on the fight against terrorism is being worked out.
