Construction of Bukhara gas-bearing region - Almaty gas pipeline coming to end

Construction of Bukhara gas-bearing region — Tashkent — Bishkek — Almaty main gas pipeline is coming to an end. Public Relations Service of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC reported.

According to it, measures to improve the reliability of the gas transportation system in Kyrgyzstan have been implemented for the first time in the last 40 years to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the consumers of Chui region, Bishkek and Almaty region of Kazakhstan, as well as to improve the reliability and security of operation, increase the capacity of Bukhara gas-bearing region-Tashkent-Bishkek-Almaty gas pipeline.

In-line diagnostics of BGR-TBA section of the pipeline of the 1st and 2nd stage was carried out. Based on the results of the surveys, 749 defects that are dangerous for exploitation were eliminated.

Since September 2016, more than 150 units of specialized equipment have been involved in reconstruction and construction of facilities, and more than 300 highly qualified specialists have been involved in the work.

Construction and commissioning of Bukhara gas-bearing region-Tashkent-Bishkek-Almaty gas pipeline, Phase II, will almost double the capacity of the gas transportation system in the north of Kyrgyzstan to 4 billion cubic meters per year, which will significantly improve the reliability of gas supply to consumers and create a powerful impulse for the successful economic development of the territories.

As noted, the construction works were performed qualitatively and in the shortest possible time.

It is worth noting that 10 residential areas of Bishkek were gasified in the framework of the investment program in 2016. Until the end of 2017, it is planned to gasify 17 residential districts in Bishkek and Chui region.
