New mufti of Kyrgyzstan approved at kurultai of Muslims

Today, the mufti Maksatbek azhy Toktomushev was unanimously approved at the sixth kurultai of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek.

Recall, on April 3, the Ulema Council elected the current leader of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Maksatbek azhy Toktomushev the new mufti of the republic.

Earlier, sheikh Chubak azhy Zhalilov, ex-kazy of Osh region Niyazaly Aripov and acting mufti Maksatbek azhy Toktomushev nominated their candidacies for the post of Muslim leader. On April 3, Chubak azhy Zhalilov and Niyazaly Aripov withdrew their candidacies from the elections.
