Tariffs for garbage disposal in Karakol increased by 81 percent

Tariffs for garbage disposal in Karakol were increased by 81 percent. The decision was made by deputies of the local council at the last session.

Now, residents of apartment buildings will pay 20 soms instead of 11 soms, while private house residents will pay 24 soms instead of 15, organizations and enterprises — 269 soms instead of 110. The payment for garbage removal in volume of 0.75 cubic meters will be 202 soms instead of 180 soms.

The deputy of the Karakol city council Kanat Ishembiyev told 24.kg news agency that annually the townspeople pay 5, 200 million soms for garbage disposal, but these funds are not enough for a high-quality cleaning of the town.

«If not to raise tariffs, Tazalyk will not survive. In Karakol, the tariff for garbage disposal is very low, the last time it was raised 7 years ago. We need to update the technical base, raise wages," he explained.
