Last week, Salkyn Sarnogoeva, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in the official opening ceremony of Andijan — Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026 project, held in Andijan, Uzbekistan.
The event was organized by the international organization TURKSOY and aimed at strengthening cultural ties within the Turkic world and promoting shared values. Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the organization, also spoke on stage.
During the event, a welcoming address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was read to the participants, emphasizing the special role of Andijan in the history, culture, and literature of Turkic civilization.
The opening ceremony featured a large-scale cultural program showcasing the national artistic heritage, creative achievements, and cultural traditions of the Turkic peoples.
The event also included the presentation of an official Guinness World Records certificate for a global achievement previously set through the participation of more than 20,000 performers of the traditional Andijan Polka dance.
