Events honoring Kyrgyz poets to take place in different countries in 2025

The international organization TURKSOY will hold a series of events dedicated to Kyrgyzstan’s national literature in 2025. The organization’s Secretary-General, Sultan Raev, announced on social media.

According to him, the first poetry festival of young poets of the Turkic world in honor of Zholon Mamytov will be held in Osh on May 28-30.

Several events are planned to honor Kyrgyz poet Alykul Osmonov in connection with the 110th anniversary of his birth. A literary festival will be held in Bishkek on October 15 — 20, while a festival and literary forum for Turkic world poets will take place in Elazığ, Turkey, on May 15 — 20. Additionally, Alykul Osmonov Poetry Days will be held in Budapest, Hungary, in October, featuring the presentation of a collection of the poet’s works translated into Hungarian. Events honoring the poet are also planned in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Almaty (Kazakhstan), and Baku (Azerbaijan). A special event will also be held in support of the Alykul Osmonov House-Museum in Cholpon-Ata.

Also, according to Sultan Raev, a presentation of the book of another Kyrgyz poet Arstanbek Buylash uulu in Turkish will take place in Ankara (Turkey).

TURKSOY (International Organization of Turkic Culture) was founded in 1993. It includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan. The organization’s primary goal is to foster cooperation among Turkic peoples to preserve, develop, and pass on their shared material and cultural heritage to future generations.
