A Career Guidance Center in Bishkek helps reduce unemployment. Talantbek Zhekshenov, head of the capital’s Employment Promotion Department, told reporters.
According to him, more than 10,000 citizens pass through the center annually, including approximately 7,000 graduating students.
At least 93 schools in the capital are covered. According to a schedule, students take individual tests to determine their interests and aptitude for further study.

He noted that the department helps citizens find employment starting at age 16—the moment they receive their passport.
Previously, a Youth Labour Exchange operated in Bishkek, which helped teenagers as young as 14 find official employment.
«We currently do not employ teenagers. When the exchange existed, there were precedents of young people being injured and maimed at work. We discussed these cases with employers, parents, and law enforcement agencies,» Talantbek Zhekshenov explained.
Today, the Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, Kanat Sagynbaev, visited the Career Guidance Center.
Kanat Sagynbaev emphasized that the development of technology and artificial intelligence requires young people to constantly improve their knowledge and skills.
Particular attention was paid to in-demand professions in light of the implementation of major infrastructure projects. Due to the growth of construction in the country, the need for logisticians, drivers and auto electricians has increased, and the development of hydropower requires engineers, hydropower engineers, dispatchers and electricians.
