Kyrgyzstan’s Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev met with Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan. A delegation of Kyrgyzstan arrived in Kazan to participate in Energoprom International Forum.
The republic’s leader recalled that an action plan for implementing the cooperation agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan for the coming years was signed at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
He extended an invitation to the Kyrgyz authorities to attend KazanForum in May.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, trade between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan increased last year, but there is still potential for further growth. Large Tatarstan enterprises are already operating in the republic’s market in mechanical engineering, oil production, and oil refining. Tatarstan is ready to share its experience in creating technology parks, special economic zones, and high technology.
Particular attention was paid to cultural and scientific cooperation. Approximately 340 students from Kyrgyzstan are studying at Tatarstan universities, and the republic is prepared to increase this number, particularly in engineering and technical fields.
Taalaibek Ibraev noted that Kyrgyz specialists have already visited Tatarstan’s energy facilities, including Zainsk, and learned about modern technologies. He highlighted promising areas of cooperation: petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, energy, environmental projects, medicine, as well as interest in polymer products and the experience of managing industrial parks, Innopolis, and Himgrad Technopolis.
