In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a unique limited edition of postage stamps dedicated to the Heroes of the Soviet Union — natives of the republic — was issued in Kyrgyzstan. The cancellation ceremony took place at the Kyrgyz‑Russian Slavic University.
The series consists of 73 stamps, each of which is dedicated to one of the heroic sons of the Kyrgyz Republic, awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The total circulation is only 250 copies, which makes the collection truly exclusive.
As the organizers emphasized, the stamps will be presented to the heroes’ relatives and will also take a worthy place in museum collections, including the museum on Poklonnaya Gora and the Russian Armed Forces Museum. Separate sets will be sent to the Russian presidential administration, the Federation Council, the State Duma and the Russian Ministry of Defense.
