On June 5, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states. The presidential press service reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of international security, combating crime, and new threats associated with the rapid development of digital technologies.
The head of state noted that criminal groups are increasingly using artificial intelligence, automating cyberattacks, spreading disinformation, and creating new channels for illegal financial transactions.
The president noted that the meeting is taking place in the year of the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the organization under the slogan: «25 Years of the SCO: Together for Sustainable Peace, Development, and Prosperity.»
According to him, amid the transformation of the international system and the crisis of global stability, the SCO maintains its resilience and remains an important mechanism for strengthening trust, security, and cooperation between states.
Meeting participants also emphasized the need to expand cooperation in information security and jointly combat cyber threats.
