Train to Issyk-Kul Lake launched for entire summer season with new upgrades

The passenger train running on Bishkek—Balykchy route has resumed service for the summer tourist season. The first train departed from Bishkek-2 station today, June 5, at 8:06 a.m. and arrived in Balykchy at 12:37 p.m.

To mark the opening of the season, a festive program was organized for passengers at the Bishkek-2 railway station. A ceremonial welcome for the arriving train was also prepared in Balykchy.

This year, passengers were offered another new feature. Two additional modernized high-comfort carriages were added to the train.

The train now consists of 14 carriages, including eight high-comfort cars and six standard-class cars.

Kyrgyz Temir Zholu noted that the number of carriages may be increased if passenger demand rises.

From June 5 to June 21, the train will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. From June 26 to September 13, the train will run daily.

The company emphasized that the Bishkek—Balykchy train remains one of the most convenient ways for both local residents and foreign tourists to reach the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake.
