Mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus increases by 54 percent in 2025

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin, who arrived in the country on an official visit, held a bilateral meeting.

The Cabinet Chairman noted that his colleague’s visit will be an important step in further strengthening Kyrgyzstan — Belarus cooperation and will add momentum to collaboration in all areas of mutual interest.

«The heads of our states have set a clear and ambitious goal: to take Kyrgyzstan — Belarus cooperation to a qualitatively new level, filling it with concrete practical content. Today, the main task of the two governments is to ensure the unconditional and effective implementation of these agreements, transforming the political will of the leaders into tangible economic and social dividends for our citizens,» he said.

Adylbek Kasymaliev noted a steady positive trend in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. By the end of 2025, mutual trade volume amounted to almost $206 million, an increase of 54 percent compared to the previous year.

In this context, the Cabinet Chairman outlined the existing potential of the Kyrgyzstan — Belarus partnership, noting the need to move towards deeper industrial and technological cooperation. In this regard, the implementation of the roadmap for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Belarus until 2030, which envisages increasing the volume of mutual trade to $500 million, is of particular importance.

«The Kyrgyz-Belarusian Business Council, established today, should play a special role in strengthening direct contacts between business circles. I would like to specifically address issues of mutual trade. We are interested in working together to expand the presence of Kyrgyz products on the Belarusian market. One of the most promising areas of our cooperation is industrial cooperation.

Kyrgyzstan is interested not only in importing finished goods, but also in deep localization of production, the creation of joint ventures, technology transfer, and the development of modern service infrastructure. Today, we see excellent prospects for cooperation in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, municipal engineering, elevator equipment, and processing,» Adylbek Kasymaliev said.

He emphasized that other important areas of cooperation include agriculture and food security, energy, and tourism. The Kyrgyz side also proposed that the Belarusian side consider opening a regular flight and confirmed their readiness to host the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus in Kyrgyzstan in 2027.

Furthermore, in his speech, the head of the Cabinet expressed gratitude to Belarus for its consistent support of the Kyrgyz Republic’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.

Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, in turn, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome, emphasizing that this is his first official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

«This is a significant event, reflecting our mutual commitment to elevate our relations to a qualitatively new level. Trade and economic cooperation have traditionally been the foundation of our cooperation. Despite external challenges, positive momentum in mutual trade remains. Our goal is to consolidate this trend and ensure its sustainable development, including by expanding our product range and deepening our cooperative ties,» he said.
