Farm produce fairs will be held every weekend in all districts and cities. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev announced on the air of Birinchi Radio.
He was answering a question how the authorities intend to regulate price increases, primarily for food products.
According to the official, price increases are an inevitable part of the market economy, and the antimonopoly agency should monitor this.
Bakyt Torobaev assured that the Ministry of Agriculture is trying to regulate the market. He recalled that one of the current measures is the creation and opening of social stores, citing the recent increase in the price of meat and solution to this issue as an example.
The minister clarified that fairs in all regions and cities will be opened very soon, and farmers will be obliged to bring their products and sell on weekends.
