The reasons for the detentions in the Bishkek prosecutor’s office have become known. As a source in the security forces told 24.kg news agency, the deputy prosecutor of the capital extorted money from the Vice-Mayor of Bishkek Ramiz Aliyev through an intermediary.
It is known that he extorted $5,000 from Aliyev through an intermediary to stop inspections at Tazalyk municipal enterprise. The latter filed a statement with the State Committee for National Security and the prosecutor was caught red-handed while taking money.
Searches were conducted in the building of the capital’s prosecutor’s office on October 18. According to preliminary data, a colonel and a lawyer were detained.
