An Emergencies Ministry helicopter took off to search for six people who went missing in Chatkal district of Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan.
The helicopter took off from Osh to Ak-Sai mountains today at 7.30 a.m.
Recall, six people went missing in Chatkal after going to the mountains to collect herbs. 14 people left on October 9. The group headed to a remote area, then communication was lost. Relatives of the villagers turned to rescuers for help. Eight people were found, and six more are still missing. According to local residents, an avalanche descended in Ak-Sai mountains area on October 14. It probably covered the people.
At least 20 rescuers from the Emergencies Ministry are involved in the search operation, and the necessary equipment is used. Rescuers maintain continuous communication with the minister.
