Women's Health month's campaign starts in Kyrgyzstan

The national Women’s Health month’s campaign will be held across the country from October 1. The press service of the Ministry of Health pf Kyrgyzstan reported.

The goal of the campaign is to motivate women over 18 to undergo preventive examinations and receive consultations on non-communicable diseases. As part of the campaign, which is supported by the Swiss project «Effective Management and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan», women will be able to measure their blood pressure, check their blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and learn about the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

To do this, it is necessary to contact a family doctor or nurse at the local clinic.

This initiative is especially relevant, since over the past four years, more than 15,000 women with diabetes have been registered, and 45,000 have been diagnosed with hypertension for the first time.

In addition, breast and cervical cancer remain one of the main causes of death among women. Last year, more than 400,000 women underwent such examinations, and every fourth woman was found to have a high risk of developing serious diseases.

Organizers hope that the campaign will help prevent complications and raise awareness of the importance of timely diagnosis.
