A series of explosions in Beirut and southern Lebanon killed 11 people, Interfax reported.
About 4,000 more people were injured, with 400 of them in critical condition.
It was previously reported that pagers used by members of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah to transmit data exploded simultaneously in different parts of the country.
It is assumed that the lithium batteries in these devices exploded due to overheating. As Al Jazeera notes, all of these devices likely exploded as a result of a coordinated cyberattack.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel Saberin News reports that pagers also exploded in Syria. According to media reports, seven people were killed there.
