Wrestler Uzur Dzhuzupbekov: We don't have nutritionists and psychologists

Bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Paris Uzur Dzhuzupbekov told what could have been the reason for his loss in the quarterfinals on August 7.

According to the athlete, he was not feeling well that day — maybe he ate something wrong or the food in the Olympic village did not suit his body. One way or another, he felt weak and could not fight at full strength. By the evening of August 8, his health had more or less improved.

Uzur Dzhuzupbekov also answered the question whether there are nutritionists and psychologists in the national team of Kyrgyzstan.

To be honest, we do not have nutritionists and psychologists. We and our coaches became our own nutritionists and psychologists.

«This requires money. Other countries have them, and they work only for the sake of wrestling. And the guys and me manage on our own, both in terms of diet and especially in terms of psychological state. We all read namaz, are grateful to God for both victories and losses, and believe that everything happens for the best,» he said.

Recall, on August 7, in the first round of the consolation tournament for a bronze medal, Uzur Dzhuzupbekov defeated the representative of the USA and received the right to fight for the third place.

The opponent of the Kyrgyzstani was Mohamed Gabr from Egypt. The fight ended in favor of Uzur Dzhuzupbekov, who won a bronze medal.

This medal was the 4th for Kyrgyzstan at the Olympics in Paris and the 12th in the history of the country.
