Mayor of Novosibirsk intends to develop cooperation with Batken region

The mayor of the Russian city of Novosibirsk, Maxim Kudryavtsev, met with the delegation from Kyrgyzstan, which was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the republic in Batken region, Abdikarim Alimbaev. Novosibirsk News reported, citing the press center of the municipality.

The head of the city noted that Novosibirsk is a business center of the Siberian Federal District, a scientific center of Russia and a cultural center of the region. The history of the development of the metropolis is closely connected with the construction of the railway, and it still dominates in this direction, Kudryavtsev emphasized.

«Your visit is important for strengthening and developing our relations. We are open to any proposals and are ready to consider them,» the mayor added.

«Batken region is located in the southwest of the Kyrgyz Republic. It borders on Tajikistan in the south, Uzbekistan — in the north, and Osh region — in the east. The population exceeds 548,000 people. The territory is attractive for its natural and climatic conditions. There are many places in the mountains with mineral water springs and forest landscapes. The region is rich in mineral deposits such as antimony, mercury, gold, silver, tantalum, coal, oil and gas,» the statement says.

Abdikarim Alimbaev told that he is well acquainted with the history of Novosibirsk.

«It’s noticeable how the city is growing and developing. Batken region is also actively developing, and we plan to start cooperation with neighboring regions,» he said.

According to him, close interaction between the two countries is facilitated by the convenient geographical location of the Siberian city with a million-plus population, a high level of education and rich cultural traditions.
