The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan commented on the case of a 32-year-old woman from Kyrgyzstan who was found hanging in a hotel room in Rishikesh city in India.
As noted, on January 5, 2024, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of India received information that a tourist from Kyrgyzstan was found hanging in a hotel room in the city of Rishikesh.
The Embassy promptly sent a corresponding request to Indian law enforcement agencies for detailed information on this fact and established contact with close relatives of the deceased.
According to Rishikesh city police, a criminal case has been opened in connection with this fact and investigative measures are being carried out.
At the same time, the ministry notes that the relatives of the deceased requested repatriation of the body to their homeland.
«After all the necessary procedures, with the assistance of the ministry and foreign agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic, on January 8, 2023, the body was delivered to Kyrgyzstan and handed over to relatives,» the statement says.
As it was previously reported, the 32-year-old tourist from Kyrgyzstan was found hanging in a hotel room in Rishikesh city in India.
