More than 20 documents signed as a result of Kyrgyz-Russian Conference

The 10th Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference completed its work in Jalal-Abad city. Its results include signing of more than 20 agreements for a record $3.5 billion. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) reports.

The head of the RKDF, Artyom Novikov, said that the total value of the contracts exceeds $1.2 billion. The agreements reached include a mini-hydroelectric power plant project with a capacity of up to 29 megawatts for more than $40 million, financing of almost $9 million for the construction of a mini-hydroelectric power station in Mailuu-Suu, projects in the field of solar and wind generation, estimated at $300 million.

In addition, the financial institution of the Russian Federation will allocate about $400 million for the modernization of Kyrgyzneftegaz oil refinery.

RKDF itself is a partner in half of the signed agreements, the value of which exceeds $300 million.

A document on the construction of a coal station in Jalal-Abad region was signed at the conference. Its estimated value is $2.3 billion. Initially, the project was not announced within the event.

«The document on the construction of a coal station in Jalal-Abad region is of particular significance. A lot of work has been done, all the details have been worked out on all sides. Work to improve business interaction between the two countries has been stepped up since 2021. During this time, investment forums were held, as well as a number of business missions of Russian companies to the Kyrgyz Republic. Our cooperation is only growing. I am sure that the RKDF will become a connecting link in economic ties between the regions of the countries,» Artyom Novikov concluded.
