«The State Civil Aviation Agency has successfully passed the audit of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which opens the way to withdrawal from the EU blacklist,» the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Torobaev, said at an event held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of civil aviation in Kyrgyzstan.
He recalled that ICAO audits are carried out every four years. Its passing means that the Kyrgyz aviation industry has confirmed compliance with all international standards and requirements. These efforts will contribute to the withdrawal from the European Union blacklist.
Since 2006, Kyrgyzstan has not been able to leave this EU blacklist and fly directly to EU countries.
Bakyt Torobaev also noted that the state is taking serious and decisive steps to improve the infrastructure base of civil aviation and provide it with modern technologies.
«A subsidiary airline, Asman Airlines, was created on the basis of Manas International Airport. It operates flights not only within the country, but also abroad. Two new modern aircraft (Bombardier Dash 8 Q400) were also purchased at the expense of the Manas International Airport’s own funds,» he told.
