President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the U.S. Senator Gary Peters, Chairmanof the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a working visit. The press service of the head of state reported.
The sides exchanged views on expanding political and economic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the United States. Welcoming the Senator, the President noted the growing political relations of a working nature between the two countries and strengthening bilateral mutual understanding. He expressed hope that the bilateral agenda, which focuses on security, democracy and economic development, will continue to be filled with concrete content.
In addition, Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that the senator’s visit to Kyrgyzstan will give impetus to the activation of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
In turn, the U.S. Senator Gary Peters thanked the head of state for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss issues of interstate relations and cooperation between the two countries. He noted that this was his first visit to Kyrgyzstan and expressed interest in developing relations and strengthening friendship. Gary Peters expressed readiness to expand cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest. The parties confirmed their readiness to continue the dialog on topical areas of bilateral interaction.
