The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan allocated 1 million soms to athletes to participate in the XXXI World University Games in Chengdu (China). Press center of the ministry reported.
These funds will be used for food, accommodation and accreditation. In addition, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports allocated 2 million soms to provide athletes with airline tickets and special sports uniforms, and the Republican Student Federation allocated 600,000 soms.
Kyrgyzstan will be represented by 16 athletes in five sports (athletics, judo, table tennis, taekwondo and shooting) and four coaches.
Minister Kanybek Imanaliev met with them on Monday. He noted that participation in the World University Games — on the one hand, is a great pride, and on the other — a great responsibility.
«In 2013, Nurbek Akanov and Nurbek Kozhobekov took the first place in Kazan in belt wrestling, in 2018 Daria Maslova took the first place in the PRC in athletics. Victories on the international arena are pride for our country, they become the foundation of patriotic education of youth,» the minister said.
The Summer World University Games will be held from July 28 to August 8 in 18 sports.
