There are only 5.5 blood donors per 1,000 people in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Minister of Health Bakyt Dzhangaziev announced on Twitter.
According to WHO recommendations, in order to have enough blood for medical needs, there should be at least 40 donors per 1,000 people in the country.
You can donate blood in Kyrgyzstan at the Republican Blood Center at the address: Bishkek, 60, Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, at regional blood centers and at the National Hospital from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
«Within 48 hours before the donation procedure, you should refrain from drinking alcohol; you should not use medicines containing aspirin and analgesics 72 hours before blood donation. Consumption of fatty, spicy, smoked, dairy products, eggs and coffee should be excluded 24 hours before the procedure. In the morning, you need to have a light breakfast, and immediately before the procedure, the donor is given sweet tea. You should refrain from smoking an hour before donating blood,» specialists reminded.
