The Ministry of Defense presented a military doctrine of Kyrgyzstan at a meeting of the Security Council on Tuesday.
Chief of the General Staff Erlis Terdikbaev noted that the main goals of military policy are to create conditions for development of the country, protect sovereignty, ensure the safety of citizens and prevent aggression. Kyrgyzstan does not pursue the goal of resolving regional claims through the use of military force, he said.
«The military doctrine specifies the duties of the Armed Forces. The main goal of the doctrine is to prevent armed conflicts,» Erlis Terdikbaev said.
He added that the structure of the Armed Forces had been changed several times in 1992-2000. In 2021-2022, during the military reform, the number of soldiers in the army was increased and new battalions were created.
