The President of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working trip.
According to the press service of Sadyr Japarov, the parties exchanged views on topical issues and priorities of Kyrgyzstan-United States bilateral cooperation.
The head of state noted that Donald Lu’s visit to the country is a good sign for further cooperation between the parties.
Speaking about recent visit of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov to Washington to participate in the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, Sadyr Japarov expressed hope that all the agreements reached and the planned cooperation in the field of attracting investments in the green economy would be implemented on time.
He stressed that Kyrgyzstan is open to foreign investment, in particular for companies with advanced technologies and modern production.
«We are ready to focus on the green, digital and creative economy. We expect that in the future the creative society of Kyrgyzstan should actively enter the global creative sphere as one of the driving forces of sustainable development,» Sadyr Japarov said.
Donald Lu noted that the American side intends to develop economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, in particular, to support the digital economy, as well as to consider other areas and opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership.
