Protest against increase of fines for traffic violations to be held in Bishkek

A protest against an increase of fines for violation of traffic rules will be held in Bishkek on Erkindik Boulevard.

A number of activists believe that the increase in fines will lead to corruption.

About 10 buses and 50 police officers gathered near the railway station before the protest.

By a court decision, protests in the capital can only be held on the territory of the Maxim Gorky park.

Earlier, the Main Traffic Safety Directorate reported that the size of fines for violation of traffic rules was increased in Kyrgyzstan. In addition, drivers can be deprived of their driver’s license for drunk driving, and vehicle will be temporarily seized in case of repeated violation.
