Since the beginning of the year, fines have been imposed on five exchange offices in the amount of 55,000 soms each. The total amount of the fines is 275,000 soms, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reports.
At least 79 inspections of exchange offices have been carried out since the beginning of 2023, as well as 18 inspections of persons exchanging foreign currency without a relevant license from the National Bank. Based on the results of the inspections, orders were sent to exchange offices, and licenses of 22 exchange offices were suspended. In addition, 16 people were fined 17,500 soms each. The total amount is 280,000 soms.
«Since the beginning of 2023, the National Bank has conducted 27 targeted inspections of the activities of commercial banks and their divisions (branches and savings banks). Based on their results, warnings and instructions were sent on the need to strictly comply with the requirements of the legislation of Kyrgyzstan and recommendations in terms of improving the quality of banking customer service,» the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed.
