A social and labor rehabilitation center was opened in Sokuluk district. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov took part in the opening ceremony.
He told about supporting socially vulnerable segments of the population and people with disabilities, in particular, about increasing the size of benefits and social payments.
«The total amount allocated from the republican budget for these purposes amounted to 15.8 billion soms. Electricity tariffs were also reduced by 50 percent, and caregivers of people with disabilities from childhood received lifelong support from the state. Work in this direction will continue. The most important thing is to create conditions for the full-fledged life of people with disabilities in society,» the official noted.
He mentioned a project on allocation of 100,000 soms to low-income families for the implementation of business projects. «More than 2,800 people received 100,000 soms each and signed «social contracts» that will bring income to their families in the future. On behalf of the head of state, the number of families involved in this project will be increased to 10,000,» Akylbek Japarov said.
Construction of the rehabilitation center was financed by Assanabil Charity Foundation. The center consists of three floors, there are classrooms for students, a sewing and carpentry workshop, a wheelchair repair workshop. There are also 16 apartments for a comfortable stay of people with disabilities.
