At the initiative of the Chinese side, some changes are being made to the procedure for entering the PRC from January 9, 2023. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny checkpoint, located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border, began the passage of citizens. In order to enter the PRC with a foreign passport, you need to apply for a visa.
It should be noted that Torugart-Avtodorozhny checkpoint continues to operate in accordance with a special algorithm that provides only for the movement of vehicles and goods from China to the Kyrgyz Republic.
In addition, the following rules are in force for citizens of Kyrgyzstan traveling to China:
- The requirement to obtain a special QR code of health in the diplomatic and consular offices of the PRC abroad for entry into the PRC has been canceled;
- Arrivals in the PRC will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test result taken no later than 48 hours before departure;
- Passengers traveling by air will be required to wear masks from the moment they board the aircraft and during the entire flight to China;
- The requirements for mandatory PCR testing and collective observation will be abolished for all people entering the PCR.
All passengers will be required to indicate their test result when filling out a customs health declaration.
Those who report not feeling well or who have symptoms such as fever will be tested for antigen at the customs.
If they test positive, they will be advised a self-isolation at home until they recover or receive treatment at a medical facility, depending on their health condition.
