Musician Vikram Ruzakhunov has become a Goodwill Ambassador of the National Center for Prevention of Torture of Kyrgyzstan. It was announced at «Achievements and prospects of the Kyrgyz Republic in respect of the right to freedom from torture and ill-treatment» International Forum.
Bakyt Rysbekov, director of the National Center, said that Elvira Surabaldieva, deputy of the Parliament, had previously been the ambassador. The deputy noted that due to the pandemic, she had been the ambassador for two years. According to her, Vikram Ruzakhunov is the worthiest candidate.
According to her, the musician, as a person who has experienced torture, will fight this phenomenon in the country.
Vikram Ruzakhunov is the first Kyrgyzstani who became a victim of torture on the territory of a foreign state.
