The President of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting with residents of the border villages in Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad regions, public figures and active citizens of the country.
The press service of the head of state reported that detailed information was provided on border issues at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, as well as on Kempir-Abad reservoir during the meeting.
«In addition, the participants voiced their questions and received comprehensive answers to them,» the press release says.
Earlier, a human rights activist Rita Karasartova called on the authorities to admit that they sold Kempir-Abad reservoir to Uzbekistan.
Another participant of the meeting, Tilekmat Kurenov, said that the authorities were serious about transfer of the reservoir to Uzbekistan. About 300 people attended the meeting, he said. The activist added that the authorities also insulted and threatened those invited.
He also previously reported that the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, threatened those present.
