Specialists get unique photos of animals from camera traps in south Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), who installed camera traps in the south of Kyrgyzstan, received unique photos of wild animals.

As the organization said, earlier, 82 camera traps were installed by NABU monitoring specialists on the territory of Kyrgyz-Ata nature park and forestry enterprises of Nookat, Aravan and Uch-Korgon districts in Osh region. They appeared in September 2021. The photos were taken at the end of May and June 2022.

According to the representative of NABU-Kyrgyzstan Zhyrgalbek Sagyndykov, snow leopards, mountain goats, a wolf, a lynx, a fox, a badger, a stone marten, a red marmot, a golden eagle, a snow vulture, a bearded vulture, a Himalayan snowcock, a chukar, a red pika, an ermine, a hare, a small lizard and other representatives of the fauna were caught on camera.

Experts have counted more than 16 species of fauna based on the results of the removed camera traps. Another expedition is planned next month. NABU will continue its work.
