«The current international situation does not inspire optimism both in terms of global security and the world economy,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting of the CSTO.
According to him, security threats and military-political tensions have crept close to all the borders of the CSTO zone of responsibility. There are attempts of third-party interference in the internal affairs of member states.
«So, at the beginning of the year we had to stop the crisis in one of the countries. We worked quickly and efficiently. The situation on the southern borders of the CSTO remains very worrying, primarily because of the unhindered activities in some Afghan provinces of radical religious-terrorist structures, whose external sponsors have their own far-reaching plans for Central Asia. I believe that the Afghan problem should remain at the center of our constant attention and analysis. It is necessary to take the entire range of political, diplomatic and military-technical security measures in this direction,» the head of state said.
