The President of Kyrgyzstan for the first time publicly announced the position of the authorities of the republic in connection with the military special operation of Russia in Ukraine. Sadyr Japarov spoke today in the Parliament.
According to him, the situation in the Russian Federation and Ukraine adversely affects all countries of the world. The head of state noted the difficulties that arise in the areas of trade, economy, security and cooperation at the global level.
«The situation in Russia and Ukraine has a negative impact on all countries of the world. In short, the situation is difficult in the areas of trade, economy, security and cooperation at the global level. Everything escalates sharply. We are a small republic. We cannot influence to stop the war. Therefore, we have to adhere to neutrality,» Sadyr Japarov said.
The hostilities in Ukraine are ongoing. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many countries have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia.
