The Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan proposes amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Offences.
It is specified that in the current versions of the Codes, the responsibility for illegal movement of goods or transport across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union is provided only in the form of a fine: for individuals — 7,500 soms, legal entities — 23,000 soms.
The Ministry of Justice believes that this is not enough and it is necessary to toughen the sanctions. In addition to a 100,000 som fine for individuals and 150,000 soms for legal entities (the amount of penalties doubles for repeat offenses — Note of 24.kg news agency), vehicles can be confiscated.
In addition, the size of fines for concealment using unreliable documents and identification means is to be increased.
